Meet The Team - Michael Haynes

Name/Nickname: Michael Haynes Instagram: @michaelhaynes27 Current Position: B2C Director Time worked with the brand: 8 years

How do you train?

Generally speaking I like to train with a bodybuilding style but occasionally I’ll throw in some basic powerlifting or strongman training just to switch things up and keep my training fun! It’s also nice to challenge my body in new ways and I find that training with different styles generally creates a synergy which will keep me well rounded with my fitness.

What/Who motivates or inspires you in life and your fitness?

I get inspiration from a wide array of things. Everything from Business podcasts (Ed Mylett, Tony Robbins, Andy Frisella, etc.) and training motivation videos on Youtube, to seeing changes in my own life or to myself on a daily basis. Growth is a huge inspiration to me and is what generally keeps me pushing forward in business as well as fitness. One of my biggest inspiration sources is the people around me – that can go two ways, at times others around me bring me up, push me, or set the bar so high that I must rise to the occasion (whatever that may be) and make myself reach new levels. Other times, I’m able to help bring someone else up (create a new positive habit, change their mindset for the better, or something similar) and seeing that I can strongly positively influence those around me gives me a lot of energy and fuels me to keep pushing forward.

Why you love working with SF Group?

I’ve worked with SF Group for almost 8 years now and I have loved every minute of it. They say that if you love what you do then you never have to work another day in your life and I can say that I don’t feel like I “work” and haven’t felt that way in many years. We have an incredible group of people that work here and we all share a strong passion for both fitness and growing this business. We have a huge array of personalities and profiles here which makes every day interesting and ensures that I don’t go a single day without learning something new or encountering a new challenge. I’m lucky enough to manage the B2C team here which means that I have the responsibility of growing our business to consumer sales and doing my best to make sure we’re always taking care of our community, creating awesome events/meet-ups, having awesome websites full of a constant flow of fresh content, and providing the best customer service we can. We have been in business for over 30 years but have only sold direct to consumer for about 6 years – meaning that we’ve done a lot but we have a LOT still to do. That keeps every day interesting and makes sure I’m always able to do new things to improve our communities experience! We’re an international company with offices in multiple countries so this has provided me the opportunity to travel… a lot.. and get to experience working with and becoming friends with countless people in different countries and also experience a variety of cultures.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I am and always have been a HUGE car nerd. I’ve owned many fun toys (mustang, corvette, viper, cts-v) and currently have a Ford Raptor (should I trade it for a Hellcat?). So over the years going to car meets, or on cruises with my friends in the car community has been a regular thing that I really enjoy doing. I’ve also had a streetbike (gsxr 750) and a dirtbike (crf 450r) but it has been a while since I’ve been on two wheels. I’m really a sucker for anything with wheels that makes a lot of noise and goes fast! Outside of that, I of course workout 3-6 times/week and generally spend 50-60 hours working in and out of the office. When I’m not at work I’m much more likely to be found at home watching Netflix or at the gym rather than out at bars on the weekend but of course I’ll make an appearance every once in a while.
