When it comes to bodybuilding and especially competitive bodybuilding when you're calories are in a deficit to get ultra lean for the stage, adding intensifier techniques such as drop sets, supersets and training to absolute failure for multiple sets is counterproductive and can tarnish your look.

_"A lot of people want to add sets and do more drop sets and add cardio and they are shocked when they start looking worse and worse."

Recovery always needs to be optimized in order to most efficiently play the keep the muscle and lose the fat game.

Hunter Labrada is 12 days out from his pro debut at the IFBB Tampa pro and under stand this more is not better concept as evidenced by attaining his best look this far out from the contest.

Heavy Legs To Get Shredded 

Irina Post and Priscilla Aquilla are both competitive bikini competitors who both value goals that incorporate working out in the process of attaining those goals.

_"Whether it's a music festival or holiday or bikini competition, its great to have a goal."

Today's workout consisted of super sets. Irina and Priscilla did 3 supersets consisting of 2 exercises each targeting their whole leg (glutes, quads and hamstrings.

Featured here is gymnastics coach and former olympian Josh Jefferis with a lot of potential gymnastics world championships and USA olympic gymnast competitors. Josh himself was an olympic gymnast competitor in Australia and now helps to build up future competitors at destination dallas.

_"Gymnastics is a power to weight ratio sport. We want them to be fast and explosive. Since these guys are quite young, we start them very gradually and we develop their control, coordination and technique first before we develop endurance and power."

[Samantha Jerring](Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/samanthajerring/) lives in Helsingborg, Sweden. In this video she is 14 weeks out from her PRO-qualifier competition in Spain. Samantha did her first PRO-qualifier show last year and finished second in the overall.

_"The woman that beat me was amazing and she definitely deserved it. Hopefully, this is my time."

Samantha is trying to make the most out of every workout she has and trying to stay as strong as possible.

_"I try to eat as much as I can and not doing too much cardio because I want my muscles to look as full and healthy as possible."

The reason why Samantha got into bodybuilding is a long story but to make it short; she was overweight and really insecure about herself. That got her into fitness and back in 2013, she followed an Olympia level Pro Women's Physique athlete on Instagram when this division was new. This inspired her. Samantha wanted to look like her and got herself a gym card. She had no idea what she was doing, literally no clue about anything in the gym.

_"I walked in there and I knew it was my place to be. I am always doing my thing despite what anybody says. Many people have told me that I cant do this, you are not able to do that, you are not gonna make it and so on. As long as you believe in yourself, who gives a f*ck what anyone thinks."

14 Weeks Out With Samantha Jerring

_"Fear is such an important emotion. I love fear."

John Tao is a pro MMA fighter who is 2-0 and has 30 amateur fights under his belt. He grew up in Garland, Texas and once he saw his first MMA fight he was hooked and began training.

As with all other athletes, nutrition and training are key components to success.

_"I like to stick to alkaline foods and consume carbs around my workout."

Along with the strategy around nutrition and training John emphasizes mental health and training.

"Fear can produce pressure, but if you let fear get to you, it can render you immobile. You wont be able to move. Fear can also put you under pressure. Some of the most amazing individuals perform well under pressure. I am ready for some pressure."

Don't let fear take up too much space in your mind. Instead re-frame fear to help you stay pressured to improve and to keep moving in a positive direction!

 was planning to compete this year, but due to the current circumstances in the world everything got cancelled. Now fall and potentially spring 2021 are in the plans.

Martin mentions why it is so important with rest days and sometimes being able to take a step back when you've gotten stuck in your training and the progression is no longer as good.

"You reach a level when you just can't get any further. To just keep going is not the solution."

Martin says that in a situation like that it's important to just let the body recover. You don't necessarily need to train more hours to be better - you just have to give your all during the hours you train.

Martin consider mindset and discipline to be two important factors to succeed with training and dieting.

In this video the focus is on back and biceps, and Martin is sharing several of his best advice to succeed with training and and optimize it.

"If you train on a professional level you should also live like an athlete."

 Martin stays in shape all year and it makes him feel good. The benefit of that is that he can compete or do a photoshoot whenever he wants, and it makes him feel good in in everyday life.

_"I wake up with a lot of energy and I feel great this way. I can recommend everyone to look over their diet more than just the training. There's so much to benefit from in that area."

Pull Workout - Back & Biceps with Martin Montazeri

Sara is competing in the Wellness Fitness division and during her current off-season, she is working to build more muscle and a physique that matches with her current competition plans.

_"I want to grow everything and achieve as much gains as I can during my off-season."

Despite Sara's offseason, she is still eating clean and tries to maintain some balance in her life, for her this means that she can eat something outside her planned food schedule as well.

_"You can have balance, eat good healthy food, and get results at the gym. I think it's important to have a balanced lifestyle."

Sara trains her upper body twice a week and its all about high reps during her workout, around 10-20 reps.

 That's why Sara's upper body workouts are more intense.

_"I think that it's important to have a lot muscle mass on the back and shoulders but my lower body should always be bigger, so that's why I train my upper body much lighter and do more high reps."

Hunter Labrada and Bryan Troianello spell out the process when dieting and how to get as fat free as possible without sacrificing muscle tissue built in the offseason.

_"What put the tissue on will keep the tissue on."

Hunter and Bryan believe in NOT changing up too many variables and backing off of the volume and prioritizing energy for the compound lifts that require quite a bit more muscle recruitment and mental grit to execute.

_"For this push session we prioritize the incline press, shoulder press and dips and then follow up with laterals and flys when we need to just push through on the single joint movements."

In this video Hunter was just over 2 weeks out and by the time of publishing it is 2 weeks out from the Tampa Pro which will be his pro debut and a victory just to be able to make it to the stage in what has been an absolutely roller coaster ride of an offseason and year!

Hunter Labrada 2 Weeks Out From Pro Bodybuilding Debut

In this in depth interview with IFBB Pro Jeremy Potvin and Better Bodies CEO Michael Johansson they dive into what makes Jeremy tick, why he got into bodybuilding, what aspects he enjoys about training and what he wants to convey to people following his journey.

I approach everything with purpose. When it comes to weight training, I live by intensity. Giving everything you got and then some and then getting out of the gym and on to the next task.

While visiting the Better Bodies headquarters at destination, Jeremy along with Jen Ronzitti, Priscilla Aquilla and Shane and Irina Post give new product feedback to the Swedish design team in Stockholm, visit the gun range, barbecue and take the corvette out for a quick spin to feel all the horsepower since Jeremy is a car fanatic.

A take home message from Jeremy is to do everything with purpose and to not lose yourself. Always be yourself!

Eileen Walraven with the help of Destination trainer Greg Mead adopted a total "can do" mindset and as a product of this mindset Eileen has gotten in the best shape of her life, built muscle, grew more confident and has built up her immune system that serves her in her professional side of life as an ER nurse.

_"As an ER nurse I generally have a strong immune system but I could only get it stronger by working out and eating right so I knew that it was time to start coming to the gym and to start doing strength training."

Eileen committed to training 3-5 times a week with Greg and has went from 180lbs to 135lbs with improved cardiovascular endurance along with muscle tone and strength. From the initial phase of training Greg instilled a "can-do attitude."

_"Once you eliminate excuses, we start getting things done!"

Positivity is contagious! During the transformation, Eileen experienced an amazing amount of feedback from her kids and co workers but she maintains the winning formula is the healthy diet and being able to build and maintain muscle is what is mostly responsible for her transformation.

_"There is no magic pill. If you remember your why the how will find a way of happening. Have a strong why. Why do you want to train and get in shape."

When you ask yourself what will you do to succeed and the answer isn't "everything in my power"... you don't want it bad enough!

Innis Gaines grew up in Beaumont, Texas and quickly realized the opportunities that athletics and sports offered. 

"I realized I could change my family's life if I just did what I needed to do and stayed focused."

Innis excelled in high school sports earning him attention from football scouts and eventually playing for Texas Christian University.

The work ethic and mental power that Innis had to develop thus far is tested over and over again. Everything was building during his collegiate football career with Innis consistently making plays and generating massive attention from the NFL.

Innis went on to tear his ACL not once but twice. Riding high on his stellar performances to be stopped in his track really tested Innis's will, mind power and work ethic to recover and come back stronger. Innis is covering all bases and everything possible in his training to stay in top shape at the moment he could get called to "go to work."

 upper chest, shoulder, and triceps workout. Since she is competing in Body Fitness, it's very important to show a well-shaped x-frame and that's why Jackie's main focus is her shoulder workout.

"Shoulders are the main focus that I'm trying to evolve and I hit shoulders at least twice a week."

Jackie is starting with incline dumbbell presses with 45 degrees angle to target the upper chest and shoulders and she is going for the heavier weights in this exercise with only 3-5 reps.

The next exercise, strict barbell press is all about focusing on her delts. Jackie is going for a full range of motion and trying to go as deep as possible.

"When you do a full range of motion, it's going to feel a lot tougher"

 and that's why she doesn't have any weights on the barbell.

Jackie is always doing around 4 sets in every exercise and in the end of her workout she lowers to 3 sets per exercise. All press exercises are great to build round, proper shoulders and shoulder barbell press is activating all three (front, side, rear delts) heads, and it is by many considered the important shoulder movement to develop shoulders and build muscles.

Lateral raises are up next and here Jackie is using cable instead of a dumbbell.

"It's much tougher to train side delts in the cable since you get more tension through the whole movement cable".

 Another important thing Jackie is mentioning is that you have to let the elbow lead the movement.

Triceps is really important in Body Fitness as well since it's bigger than the biceps and it will give you more volume. That's why she is always including triceps in her upper chest/shoulder workout. Therefore Jackie is finishing off with 2 triceps exercises.
